At the beginning of the year, we will be doing several activities to help us get to know each other and build a fun and functional classroom environment. Here are some of the team building activities we will do:
- Themed name tags
- Water color self portraits
- Shared Visioning
- S.O.P. creation
We will also read several books that will act as our "anchor" texts to help us get comfortable in our new classroom. Some of these texts will include:
- How Full is Your Bucket
- A Pet For Ms. Wright
- Peanut Butter and Homework Sandwiches
- This is Not My Hat
- The Quiet Book
In order to start building strong and trusting relationships within our community, we will be using team building activities as transitions during the first bit of school. This will also help get our wiggles out because we will be up and moving!
